Before
1. The word is used to decried an emotion that I would feel when I ask a question in class.
After
The word is used to describe an emotion that i would feel when I ask a question in class.
  • According to the book Rules for Writers I preformed the act of misspelling a word in this case it is describe.
Before
2. If someone thinks that asking a question makes people view them as a donkey than there more than likely not going to ever ask a question no matter how badly they don't understand.
After
If someone thinks that asking a question makes people view them as a donkey then they're more than likely not going to ever ask a question no matter how badly they don't understand.
  • In this sentence I made the common error twice non the less of using the wrong word the first on is than what i meant to spell was then. The second word is there here I meant to say they're or they are.
Before
3. The diction in my letter is based upon donkey, perhaps, and, feel through which I express that I am not doing will in Mrs. Wright's class.
After
The diction in my letter is based upon donkey, perhaps, and feel through which I express that I am not doing well in Mrs. Wright's class.
  • In this on sentence I have managed to preform three basic rules the first of which is a common coma error. Then I used the wrong form of well what i wrote was will not well. The last thing that is wrong with this is that the sentence is unclear as to what this is pertaining to.
Before
4. After all it's the only source that I have that will aloue me to write on it.
After
After all it's the only source that I have that will allow me to write on it.
  • Yet again I seem to have mixed up the spelling that goes along with the meaning of the word.
Before
5. Punctuation and design gives off hug clues that there are thinks missing.
After
Punctuation and design gives off huge clues that there are things missing.
  • In this simple sentence i have managed to misspell two simple word which are huge and things. I do not know what i was thinking I could have been typing to fast.
Before
6. Tone is sarcastic, which reflects sarcasm used in almost every paragraph to emphasize or down play an important situation like when i say "What good is a pencil if you don't have anything to write on?" gives an example at an attempt at sarcasm because it asks a very obvious question.
After
Tone is sarcastic, which reflects sarcasm used in almost every paragraph to emphasize or down play an important situation. This is demonstrated when I say "What good is a pencil if you don't have anything to write on?" gives an example at an attempt at sarcasm because it asks a very obvious question.
  • This sentence there is a run on in order to fix this I had to locate the two things I was talking about and create two different sentences for each subject I was talking about
Before
7. No I'm not because there ant going to be a next time.
After
No I'm not because there is not going to be a next time.
  • I used the word ant which is an animal to try and say that I am not going to do something.
Before
8. With less command on the saying it gives me more room to lead astray and not follow through.
After
With less command on the saying it gives me more room to lead astray, and not follow through.
  • I need to put a coma in this sentence because it contains two thoughts that relate to the same subject.
Before
9. Either way it shows a lack of commitment toads my class work.
After
Either way it shows a lack of commitment towards my class work.
  • According to Rules for Writers by Diana Hacker I have confused the meaning of one word the that of another I wrote toads (animal) instead of towards.
After reading Diana Hacker's Rules for Writers I have found that I get a lot of words confused such as there their they sound the same but have very different meanings. Coma errors are something that I do a lot of as well whether its the fact that I'm writhing to fast or don't pay attention enough. There was one run on sentence that I found after reading this book it was quit easy to spot. There was one or two incomplete sentences or fragments that I found where missing a verb or a subject.

Journal #7

After completing Michael Lassell’s poem my reaction was shock because it was so simply written but it held a lot of meaning. The homosexuality in this poem was based upon a guy who has a gay brother which he had a hard time accepting. It is hinted at when he asks his wife “How could anyone’s commitment be deeper than a husband and wife?” implying that he is not completely understand of why his brother would want to put himself through the criticism. His wife feels the same way which is expressed when she says that she does not want to know all the “details”. The not gay brother is having a hard time trying to decide whether he can accept his brother for what he really is which is gay.
In almost all the clips involving homosexuals it shows that society has a hard time excepting what they are.Like in the show Glee they don’t want the new guy to perform with the gay guy because they say it well rune his image. In the poem the main guy accepts what his brother is due him being on his death bed

Journal #5 (Russian Guy)

The Direc TV commercial with the rich Russian guy is to inform people that if you sign up for Direc TV you get 5 months free thus saving you money.
This commercial may look funny upon your first watch weather it’s the fact that there is a Russian guy in it or the cute pocket size giraffe, but if analyzed you start to ask your self why would a rich guy want to save money?

The answer is he dose not this is an example of a hyperbole. You can tell that the Russian is rich right from the start of the commercial due to the fancy artifacts, and mounds of gold bars on which his gold remote sets. Not to mention all the people he has helping him out.

A stereotype can also be made about this commercial. Your next question would be why did they choice a Russian guy to play rich? This could be linked to the Russians recent rise in wealth due to their recent investment in oil. Displaying that if you do what they are doing and fallow them you will find your self with an over abundance of cash. You’ll be so rich you can buy your self a gold remote as will.

In summation you should porches Direct TV because if you do you will get rich like the Russian’s and get to sit on an elaborate couch with a mini giraffe and get waited on hand and foot (girls for men and men for girls).

Idenity

It was an ordinary day nothing special had yet to happen. No, fun and games or talks of play, just uneventful days filled with carelessness. Times of freedom and thoughts constrained the weight of which is manageable but only, just. Unshared times, stuffed in pockets and folds.

Then there were those days of joy and bliss. You found a way to vent and rave. Few in number though they where no one must know the moments of delight. For they well wish of what you have. Such light is not meant to last due to its conflicting opposite. You wonder and dream of the light that never comes.

Hampl chose to tell the story almost out right I chose to do it in a roundabout way because I have trouble talking about myself. It was very hard to “fictionalize” parts of my writing because I did not use the words I or my. It was a lot easier for me to tell myself what I did than tell you what I did. It helped me feel like this writing was less personal than what it is. It was quit hard coming up with how much to share and what to leave unsaid so my meaning dose not get misinterpret
